KAPPA KEY NOTES                                                                                                                            2024 - 2025

It’s almost fall y’all! Despite being a thousand degrees in the shade, it is back to school and time for recruitment, which is always exciting. I can’t wait to hear about all the new sisters we will be welcoming soon! It is also time to gather again as alumnae, sisters who have grown together across time with love and laughter, sharing serious moments and joyous ones with loyal support for each other.

There are many exciting and hopeful happenings across our beloved fraternity starting with new national officers. Welcome to our new president, Elizabeth Bailey (Mississippi) and all the new officers and directors who have stepped forward to lead us into the exciting and challenging future while honoring our traditions and heritage. We want to thank Natalie Bunton for representing us at the biennium convention this summer! She will update us on all the happenings at one of our first meetings. Thanks again, Natalie!

We have lots of fun and engaging events planned for the coming year and hope you will join us for as many as possible. There are new activities, like Bunco Brunch and traditional favorites like our ornament exchange and Founder’s Day. We also have some great lunch bunch dates at new venues that you’ll want to savor tastes and time with your sisters. We will focus on our continuing supporting of fellow Kappas through the Rose McGill holiday sharing as well as our philanthropy of Mental Health through Talk Space and on a local level here in NW Houston.

I’m so proud of our five Olympic athletes representing Kappa in Paris. Diver Kassidy Cook is from the Woodlands and scored the 1st medal of these games winning silver. Kathryn Plummer is having a great run in volleyball, Lily Williams (medaled in Tokyo) and is looking to claim another in cycling, and Maggie Steffens (has 2 gold medals and is team captain) and Ryann Neushul are competing in water polo. So proud of these women!

KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA GIVING

We participate in The Rose McGill Holiday Program every year. This gives a wonderful holiday gift to an Alumna and her family who need aid during the holidays. 

  Our January philanthropy event will be a great way  for our association to support Mental Health. Kappa  Kappa Gamma is now nationally supporting Mental  Health through Talk Space. We would like to support  Mental Health, on a local level, here is NW Houston.   In the coming month, we will determine how best to show our support in our community. More information to follow. If you   would like to donate, please donate on your dues form. Thank you.
